This is the
study into how New York City is governed by a complex
set of agencies and institutions. The main themes are:
- To introduce the city as a heterogeneous entity, which
is produced through the different practices of individuals.
- To introduce the notions of 'order' and 'disorder'
within the city.
- To consider different forms of regulation in the city,
and to examine the politics around each form of regulation.
- To examine the notion of 'power'.
- To examine the process of governance as a form of
city politics.
